Frequently Asked Questions
We Got The Answers
Most people booking their first medical aesthetics appointment have the same questions: who is doing the treatment, what does it actually feel like, how long do results last, and what does it cost. The answers below cover what we get asked most often at Kontour. If you have a question that is not here, contact us and we will answer it directly. Honest answers, not sales scripts.
About Kontour and Your First Visit
Who performs the treatments at Kontour?
Belita Savage, a Nurse Practitioner with advanced training in injectable techniques and medical aesthetics, leads every clinical decision at Kontour. Treatments are performed by licensed medical professionals, not estheticians moonlighting in injectables. That distinction matters, especially for anything involving a needle.
Do I need a consultation before my first treatment?
Yes. Every new client begins with an assessment. We need to understand your skin, your medical history, what you have tried before, and what you actually want to achieve. Many clients arrive thinking they need one treatment and leave with a different plan that better matches their concerns and budget.
What happens during a consultation?
A consultation lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. We review your skin under proper lighting, discuss your goals, walk through realistic options, and explain costs in writing before you book anything. There is no pressure to commit on the spot.
Where is Kontour located?
We are at 1599 Adelaide Street North, Unit 101B, in north London, Ontario. The clinic serves clients from across London and surrounding communities including Byron, Westmount, Masonville, Hyde Park, Sunningdale, and rural areas like Ilderton, Lucan, and Arva.
Botox and Neuromodulators
How much does Botox cost in London, Ontario?
Pricing in our market is typically quoted per unit or per area. We pre-book every appointment with a written estimate so there are no surprises at checkout. For a current quote tied to your specific concerns, book a consultation. You can read more about Botox treatments on our service page.
How long does Botox last?
For most clients, Botox lasts about three to four months on the first treatment. With consistent treatment over a year or two, many clients find their results stretch longer between sessions because the treated muscles have weakened from reduced use.
Will Botox make me look frozen?
Not when it is dosed and placed correctly. The frozen look people fear comes from too much product, poor placement, or treating areas that should be left alone. Our approach is conservative by default. Most clients are told they look rested, not done.
Is Botox painful?
Most people describe it as a quick pinch. The needles are very fine. Treatment usually takes ten to fifteen minutes and topical numbing is available if you are particularly sensitive.
When will I see Botox results?
You will start to notice softening within three to five days. Full results typically settle in around day fourteen. We always book a two-week follow-up so we can assess and touch up if needed.
Dermal Fillers
How long do dermal fillers last?
It depends on the product and the treatment area. Lip filler typically lasts 9 to 12 months. Cheek filler can last 12 to 18 months. Some collagen-stimulating products last longer. We talk through expected duration for your specific plan during your consultation.
Will my dermal fillers look natural?
That is the goal at Kontour. Natural results come from understanding facial proportions, choosing the right product for the right layer, and stopping before things look obvious. Most of our clients are women in their late 30s through 50s who specifically want to avoid the overdone look. We turn down requests for filler when we think more product would not look right.
What is the difference between Botox and fillers?
Botox relaxes muscles that create lines from movement, like forehead lines and crow’s feet. Fillers add volume to areas that have lost it, like cheeks, lips, and the under-eye hollows. Many clients use both. They solve different problems.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Modern hyaluronic acid fillers have been used clinically for decades and have a strong safety record when administered by trained medical professionals. Risks rise sharply with untrained injectors. Always ask who is treating you and what their credentials are.
Facials, Lasers, and Skin Treatments
How is a HydroFacial different from a regular spa facial?
A HydroFacial uses a medical-grade device to cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and infuse serums in a single session. Spa facials rely on manual technique and product layering. The HydroFacial finishes faster, leaves no redness, and is gentler on sensitive skin. Read more about our HydroFacial treatments.
How often should I get a facial?
For most adult skin, every four to six weeks works well. That timing matches the natural skin cell turnover cycle. Clients with active acne, persistent congestion, or specific corrective goals may benefit from more frequent sessions during a treatment phase.
Will I have downtime after treatment?
It depends on the treatment. Botox, fillers, and HydroFacials usually require no downtime. Microneedling typically involves 24 to 72 hours of mild redness. Chemical peels and laser resurfacing range from a few days of flaking to about a week of recovery for stronger settings. We tell you exactly what to expect before you book.
How many laser sessions will I need?
Most concerns require a series of three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, depending on the device and your goal. Single sessions help, but lasting changes come from a planned series.
PRP Therapy
Is PRP safe?
PRP uses a small sample of your own blood, separated to concentrate the growth factors, then reintroduced to the treatment area. Because it is your own biological material, allergic reactions are extremely rare. Standard medical drawing protocols apply.
What does PRP feel like?
The blood draw is a routine venipuncture. The PRP application varies. Microneedling with PRP feels similar to microneedling alone with mild stinging. PRP injections feel like other injection treatments. Topical numbing is offered for both.
Pricing, Financing, and Payment
Why are aesthetic prices so different across clinics?
Three factors drive most of the difference: who is performing the treatment, what product is being used, and how much of it. A “Botox special” priced well below market usually means diluted product, unusually small dose, or an injector still in training. We price for what is actually being delivered.
Are aesthetic treatments covered by insurance?
Cosmetic treatments are not covered by OHIP or private insurance. Some medical-grade prescription skincare may be partially reimbursable depending on your plan. Bring your insurance details to consultation if this matters to you.
What payment methods do you accept?
Debit, all major credit cards, and approved financing. Payment is collected at the end of each appointment.
Booking and Appointments
How do I book my first appointment?
You can contact us by phone or use the booking form on our site. We will help you start with the right service, which is usually a skincare consultation or a Botox assessment depending on your goal.
What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. We ask for at least 24 hours notice for any rescheduling so we can offer the slot to someone else. Same-day cancellations are subject to our cancellation policy, which is shared at booking.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
We hold limited evening hours during the week and selective Saturday slots, depending on the season. These book quickly. Plan ahead if your schedule is tight.
